Beginner Yoga Workshop:  Learn breathing, postures and relaxation

Have you always wanted to try yoga and didn’t know how to get started? This workshop is a basic yoga introduction that covers breathing, beginning postures and relaxation. Some of the benefits will enable you to learn how to improve your posture, breathing, flexibility and overall relaxation. This is a relaxing and supportive workshop that will show you the basics of yoga and how it can benefit your life to balance your body and mind.


Yoga Nidra: Working with Intention

The literal translation of Yoga Nidra is Yogic Sleep. It is an ancient form of guided meditation that will take you into the deepest levels of relaxation while still remaining fully aware. Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) is a guided meditation that is done lying down or in a chair, allowing you to enter the deepest state of relaxation. No experience necessary, anyone can benefit from the practice Yoga Nidra. This type of meditation is wonderful for simple relaxation, stress reduction and health issues. When practicing the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra, your brainwaves drop into the alpha and theta state. Tai Chi (also known as Tai Ji and Tai Chi Ch’uan), is an ancient Chinese martial art that in recent decades has become known for improving both mental and physical health. Tai chi is known to improve balance, coordination, internal strength, qi flow and to give an overall sense of relaxation, harmony and well being. The emphasis in Tai Chi class is learning basic principles including stances, balance, coordination, proper body structure and alignment. All formulated around relaxtion of the body, calming of the mind and which allows movement of energy or “Qi” (Chi). During class a series of warms-ups and qi gong (literally, energy works) are practiced prior to working on forms. Reiki Healing Circle
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a holistic method of healing, much like the laying on of hands. The practitioner or Master simply lays her hands along your body and allows the universal energy (Ki) to flow through her to promote your natural healing process. A good analogy is that Reiki works like acupuncture, but without the needles. Reiki works on all of the bodies – spiritual, mental/emotional and physical – providing an all-encompassing healing experience.
