Q: What are the main things to look for when purchasing a quality piano?
A: You should strongly consider the following three points. First, you want to be sure that quality materials were used in the construction of the piano. Things like solid spruce for the soundboard, hard rock maple in the pinblock and an action made from all wood parts…no plastic. Second, you should research who actually manufactured the piano…do they have a high level of experience and expertise, does the factory meet worldwide standards for quality and craftsmanship. Third, you want to be sure you are purchasing your piano from a service oriented dealer. How long have they been in business, are they experts in this area, what kind of service after the sale do they offer an most importantly…do they actively promote and participate in the hobby of playing the piano!
